2015 Recycle Your Bicycle

All bicycles collected during the drive will be given to children during this winter’s holiday season with the help of the Arizona Association for Foster & Adoptive Parents .

Children in foster care have an especially tough life. Many times, they enter foster care with little more than the clothes on their backs. Our partners at Recycle Your Bicycle want to make sure every child is able to participate in a normal part of growing up – riding a bike.

Recycle your Bicycle started in 2009 with one volunteer and one bike. Over the last five years, it has grown into a year-round collection effort.

“When we started, we knew that Recycle Your Bicycle would make a huge difference in the lives of children in foster care. Whether it’s the joy of a first bike, or reliable transportation to a first job, every bicycle we recycle creates a lifetime memory for child,” said Joe Jacober, Recycle Your Bicycle coordinator. “The program has grown over the years as the community becomes engaged in donating bikes, and so many volunteers have such a great time giving back, and being part of something that can mean so much to so many kids.”

“We are very proud to be a member of this group which is working towards the goal of giving lots of great holiday gifts to deserving kids in the Arizona Foster Care Program,” said Tex Earnhardt, founder of Earnhardt Auto Centers. “Thank you in advance for your participation!”
